Project Research: The gas turbine engine used on the North American Eagle™ world land speed record program is a powerplant with some advance technology that will reduce vibration, increase horsepower, decrease fuel consumption and increase service life. Many of these items are proprietary to S&S Turbine Services of Fort St. John, BC. Some items we can tell you about are the use of low smoke combustors, ceramic coated T-duct, and a resized first stage nozzle. The first stage turbine blades are manufactured with DS cast from CM186LC material. These changes should increase ouput by 10%. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
