NAE™ Project: Update
October 24, 2008 Ladies and Gentlemen: This past Tuesday, Ed Shadle, Steve Wallace and Keith Zanghi participated in the 2008 Microsoft® Innovation Management Forum. Located in Building 33 on the beautiful Microsoft Campus in Redmond Washington, the three team members gave a presentation on The North American Eagle™ project and the innovation that takes place to build the world's fastest car. It was also a time of reunion as Ed, Steve and Keith met once again with Don Richardson from Microsoft. Don is the Worldwide Solution Director for Microsoft and the three met at last year's 2007 European CATIA Forum in Paris. Dassault Systèmes was a Gold Sponsor of this event. It was fitting as a major portion of the presentation shows how innovation on the Eagle takes place using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions like CATIA V5: Dassault Systèmes flagship product. It was great meeting Isabelle Ross from Dassault who was on hand to answer the participants questions and show Dassault Systèmes PLM solutions. Along with our other engineering sponsors like INCAT, FARO Technologies, Lenovo, Verisurf Software, Intel and Geomagic® Studio Software has led the team to the forefront of some exciting innovations such as:
The 2008 Microsoft® Innovation Management Forum brings together global innovation leaders , analysts and partners to address key issues. The Forum is an opportunity to network and share best practices to address the process of managing innovation more effectively. One of the more interesting presentations was from Dr. Bob Brier and Jean-Pierre Houdin, authors of the book The Secret Of The Great Pyramid. Last year at the 2007 European CATIA Forum, Ed, Elaine, Steve, Libby and Keith saw a 3D version of the book. The book is about Jean-Pierre's obsession that led to the solution of ancient Egypt's greatest mystery. You can see an online version of Jean-Pierre's Theory on the Dassault Systèmes website. The evening was finished by a wonderful dinner at Chateau St. Michelle Winery. It was an exciting day where we met some new friends, and renewed friendships with some old ones. All in a days' work during our journey to break the world land speed record. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
