NAE™ Project: Update November 29, 2008 Ladies & Gentlemen: Today the team gathered at Spanaway Airport to conduct an engine run for checking over electrical issues which needed attention. Present were Ed Shadle, Keith Zanghi, Jon Higley, Bill Eckberg, Steve & Libby Wallace, Tim Finley, John Zambrano, Dave Selby, Rob Martinson, John Winchester, Rex Walter, Gino Sanfillipo, Rich Pengelley, Von Armstrong, John Drury, Paul Turner, and Omar Chramosta. One of Zambrano's & Selby's friends, Cory Dalton, was among the many who showed up to watch the event. He ended up pitching in and is now our newest team member. He will have a page in the site soon as a team member. After loading the start cart from the hangar, the team assembled at the airport to unload the car from the travel trailer. Once it was anchored to a large evergreen with a 150 foot steel cable from our sponsor, Dantrawl, and electrical wiring was properly connected to the car from a service vehicle nearby, the engine was started and data was collected by Steve and Tim for future analysis. Paul Turner, our new video production team member, shot footage of the event. John Drury, team driver for the semi-trailer which hauls the NAE™, took Von Armstrong up for a flight to get an aerial viewing of the session site. The car was loaded back into the travel trailer and the team then assembled at the Spanaway Lake Golf Club restaurant to hold a debriefing about what was learned. Ed also shared what has developed recently with various sponsors and our next spring test session plans. Team NAE™ is once again grateful to our senior team member, Slim Lawson, airfield manager, for the use of Spanaway Airport for our engine test session. The team will be holding its annual Christmas breakfast next month on the 13th. Any team member who has not already received details should contact either Ed, Keith or Jon for information. As always, all team members are invited. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
