NAE™ Project: Update

May 4, 2009

Ladies and Gentlemen:

Yesterday was an exciting day at the hanger as  Tim Finley, Cam, Rachel and Alex Shadle, Gino Sanfilippo, Rich and Tom Pengelley, Mike Thoe, John Winchester, Eric Helpenstell, Steve Wallace, Bernard McVay, Von Armstrong, Chris Greene, Dave Selby, Cory Dawson , Jon Higley,  Keith Zanghi and Ed Shadle spent this past weekend working on the North American Eagle™ in preparation for this summer's test session at the Black Rock Desert.

Black Rock base camp '07

Rich and Cam spent the entire day working on the lower forward wheel well covers. Cam built a trim piece out of stronger aluminum to strengthen the inside edge of the wheel cover opening. In the back of the NAE™ hangar, Keith spent time setting up the Ecliptic RocketCam™ cameras in preparation for the coming test session.

Ed spent most of the day interviewing on Nicole's camera. She was visiting from NBC Universal to collect some footage for a show under consideration. The team also was briefed by Ed & Keith about the upcoming test session; what our plans and intended goals are.

Chris, w/ his dad Tad Greene

Earlier in the week Ed and Keith attended a function at Chris Greene's school.  Chris put togther a great display illustrating the project and got an "A" on his project...Good job Chris!  Photo above is Chris and his dad Tad.

Meanwhile, Bernard welded handles on our second jack, Cam drilled holes in the trim piece and Steve showed Keith and Tim the wind socks he'd made for the coming test session in the desert.

On the newsstands is an article on the project in the June 2009 issue of FLY RC magazine. The very popular magazine can be found at most grocery stores and all book stores.

Earlier last week Wired.co.uk published an article about our project's attempt to take the record back by using the title - "British Record Threatened by U.S. Jet Car".

We know a lot of our fans are on facebook. Now the North American Eagle™ is on facebook! In fact many of our team members are also! It is just another great way to let everyone know what we're up to. We have many of our latest Power-On systems test videos up on the site. Just type in North American Eagle and you will find us! Tell your friends! It's fun!

We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site.
