Ladies and Gentlemen:

A very busy week as North American Eagle™ Team members stretched out between Spanaway and Los Angeles California.

On Monday Ed Shadle and Keith Zanghi traveled to Los Angeles, California to meet with several friends of the project. Mark Moore from UREMET Corporation and Dave Stephenson who is a pilot for Wolfe Air Services. With the Los Angeles experience including heavy rains and subsequent floods, the two spent a lot of time at the Corona Airport lending a hand in the mass exodus of airplanes to other airports. It is predicted the Corona Airport will be under 17 feet of water by the time you read this! In all it was a good trip and further information will come out in the upcoming months.

It wasn't all work as Ed and Keith stop off at Barris Kustom and renewed friendships with George Barris and Tony Wood. While there the two got a great tour of the shop and each took turns sitting in the million dollar Batmobile and Munster Coach.

This weekend's work party consisted of Chris Greene, Von Armstrong, Steve Wallace, John Winchester, Larry Martinson, Eric Helpenstell, Dustin Martinson, John Drury, Keith Zanghi and Ed.

Von, Keith, Larry, Chris and Eric inspected the bearings and reinstalled the rear wheels that were originally machined by Eagle Machine, Inc and UREMET Corporation. During the reassembly, Keith was on the phone to Steve Green in Abbottsford, verifying torque settings. By the end of the day the rear axle assembly was completely done and is now ready for some high speed runs. Larry's son, Dustin, spent some valuable time sorting several thousand nuts and washers. He then put them all into the proper storage area.

Chris and Von pulled out the engine trailer from storage and reassembled the mounting brackets. The two repainted some spots that were rusting and serviced the rollers and slides in preparation of an engine removal next weekend.

Steve installed some instrumentation that will now monitor the movement of the front steering. When connected to the PCB Piezotronics / Larson Davis Data Acquisition System we will be able to tell exactly how much steering movement Ed is doing while making a run. The system works in conjunction with our onboard Lenovo ThinkStation with Intel SSD (Solid State Drive) The data is sent over the airwaves with a Tropos IP Broadband Mesh Networks.

Upcoming Weeks
In the next few weeks the team will be busy removing the S&S Turbine Services LM 1500 Turbojet engine to perform preventative maintenance and give it a thorough inspection.
