NAE™ Project: Update April 22, 2009 Ladies and Gentlemen: This past two days have been an incredible media blitz for the North American Eagle project. It started with the Guy Gugliotta's story in the New York Times, Science Times insert on Tuesday. That led local Seattle Times to pick up the story and run it on the front page also!
That same day Steve Wallace and Ed Shadle helped set up the exciting Lenovo / ATI / NAE booth in the TechniFair at COE. On Wednesday morning Steve Wallace did a radio interview on the local Seattle station KOMO with host Jim French. He then headed on down to the Washington Convention Center and spent the day with Ed, Don Mitchell and Keith Zanghi at the Lenovo / ATI / NAE booth.
Meanwhile about mid-day the Science Channel ran our very popular Mega Builders Show - Worlds Fastest Wheels. Since the original air date of September 22, 2005 the show has been seen all over the world and has aired in the United States over 100 times! The one hour show directed by Dugald Maudsley features the activities leading up to our first successful test run. The show follows the team as they travel to Magna-Force in Port Angeles, WA and see the remarkable LevX® braking system. Then on to Canada to Eagle Machine, Inc to see the building of the all metal wheels and finally to S&S Turbine Services in Fort St John BC where the team performs engine test on the 42,500 hp LM 1500 Turbojet.
Today when most people were sleeping or headed to work, Keith and Ed were picked up in front of the Washington State Convention Center and whisked off to a downtown Seattle studio and did a live interview with Bill Hemmer and Megyn Kelly on FOX News America's Newsroom show. Three seconds after the show ended the two removed their microphones and caught the waiting limo back to the Washington State Convention Center and met up with Steve Wallace for a 7 AM presentation at COE. The three gave their Challenging The World Land Speed Record presentation to the COE attendees. The session was sponsored by Lenovo, ATI and Dassault Systèmes. The three then returned to the TechniFair and answered questions at the Lenovo / ATI booth for the rest of the day. The offers keep coming in from other network news and magazines all over the country. We'll keep you up to date.
