Mike Thoe - Mechanical Engineer

Mike Thoe is helping us with the Aerodynamic performance and stability & control on the North America Eagle™. Mike came by the hanger one Saturday on a tour with the local Model A Ford club. He came back the next Saturday and wanted to talk Aerodynamics.

Mike graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He has spent the last 30 years working at Boeing's Aerodynamics Laboratory. He has designed wind tunnel models, provided test support for wind tunnel tests and has had responsibility for the operations, maintenance and enhancement of several aerodynamic test facilities. He is currently responsible for the operation of Boeing's transonic wind tunnel located at Boeing Field in Seattle.

Mike and several of his Aerodynamics buddies are going to make sure we have complete control of the North America Eagle™ as we travel through the sound barrier. Mike has been a member of the National Ski Patrol for the last 28 years. He commutes to work daily on a Honda Shadow 1100 and spends his spare time restoring and enjoying Model A Fords.
