Ed Shadle
Driver, Co-Owner, Project Manager -
Part II (The Early Years)

Ed first competed in the soap box derby in 1954. Ed was naturally interested in fast cars like all kids his age.

Above is one of Ed's fondest memories. It featured a 1953 ford engine with a Mercury crankshaft and 4 Strombergs, circa 1958. The photo above is courtesy of Warner Bros. Studios for the movie Rebel Without A Cause. Ed was beat out by some guy name James Dean!
Ed's mechanical abilities and interest in cars can be traced to his granddaddy, here changing brakes. Note the high tech jack stands!
Here are a couple of Ed's uncles, just kind of hanging out. Still practiced today!
Here is a picture of Ed's father, mother and sister. As usual Ed was found in the family car. Nice color! According to his mother, Ed could be heard in the back-ground uttering something like "Dad, can I have the keys?"
Besides landspeed racing, snow skiing and flying airplanes, Ed is an accomplish Scuba Diver. Former president of the Tacoma Scubaners diving club, Ed has explored the undersea world of Puget Sound, Southern California, the Caribbean, the Agean Sea and the Black Sea. Ed is in the middle.
One of Ed's passions is the recovery of racing Greyhounds. A lifelong horseman and owner of Lamas Ed spends what little time he has finding homes for these beautiful animals. If you would like to adopt a Greyhound, send Ed an email.
As project manager and co-owner, Ed travels all over the United States. From time to time he rubs elbows with the rich and famous!
In his spare time, Ed likes to fly his Beechcraft Skipper.
