NAE™ Project: Turbine Jet Engine Powerplant

S&S Turbine Services, LTD: Sponsor
To run 800 mph (357.63 m/s) on land requires many things, not least of which is a powerful engine. The North American Eagle™ (NAE™) is powered by a jet engine; turbojet to be exact. It produces 42,500 horsepower (42,582.82 hp metric).

Curious about how this jet engine works and why it generates so much power? Then go to this link to learn the details about this incredible piece of machinery. The LM - 1500 is a monster of a engine. It is just over 17ft long, and slightly more than 3 ft in diameter, and weighs around 3,600 lb. It is a single-shaft engine whose later high-pressure compressor stages incorporated variable-incidence stator blades. These movable components are linked together mechanically so that their position can be controlled by the fuel supply. The compressor has 17 stages and is driven by a three-stage turbine.
We know a lot of our fans are on facebook. Now the North American Eagle™ is on facebook as well! In fact many of our team members are also! Tell your friends! It's fun!
