It is with sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing last night of Ed Drumheller II, after a six month battle with cancer, from a heart attack in his sleep. This occurred just after viewing the airing of our documentary on the Discovery Channel here in the U.S. Ed's wife, Barbara, has informed us that he was very happy that our show on MegaBuilders finally got aired in the U.S. after showing in almost every other market around the globe.
All the members of the team consider themselves fortunate to have known this wonderful individual who contributed so much to this project; now going into its tenth year. We are disappointed that he will not be with us to see this project's goal come to fruition, but we know that he will be with us in spirit and this awareness will give us both greater determination and resolve to see it through.
Ed Drumheller's long and distinguished career is one of remarkable accomplishments, both as a parachute specialist in his early years with NASA's moon shot program in the '60s, to designing a pressure suit that was patented, to his last years as a member of the NAE™ Team. For details, please go to his team member page to read and view images of only some of the framed pictures and plaques which fill a whole room in his home.
Services for Ed Drumheller II will be held on Friday, November 17th. It is not known as of this announcement exactly what time and where services are being held, as Barbara is still taking care of details tomorrow, November 10th. Should more information become available, it will be posted on our site as soon as possible.
Ed Drumheller II will be missed, but never forgotten.
