El Mirage Dry Lake Bed

Located east of Palmdale, CA in the high desert, El Mirage is the haunt of many a land speed racer. Roughly five miles in length and width, it is where the "brotherhood" of "grease monkeys" and "speed freaks" gather for their annual club events to see just how fast their creations will go.

El Mirage has served the NAE™ Project well four different times for conducting test sessions over the past several years. It provides enough distance and space for low-speed runs up to 400 mph.
