We invite you to...
NAE™ Classroom: Attention classroom teachers of the Puget Sound Region! Are you looking for a science oriented, high-interest, goal focused classroom or school assembly presentation? If so, then you want to contact the team's teacher, Jon Higley, to schedule your visit by some of the team members now, before we're completely booked for the year. Here's a list of general topics we touch on in our presentation:
What's that? Did I hear you ask, "What kind of fee do they charge?" The answer to that is, "Nothing!" At least, up to this point we haven't. We are interested in expanding our outreach to the community, as well as promoting science & aviation education. Here's a few links to some of our more recent presentations we've done at schools around the Puget Sound. Unfortunately, we can not afford to travel beyond this region, as we are not yet sponsored with funds to do so.
We have DVD material to show and can have an actual J-79 engine cutaway for students to see and learn how a turbo-jet engine works with enough advanced scheduling. Here's a teacher's comment from one of our more recent visits: "The students loved your presentation and look forward to following the progress of the project on your web site!" Here's an invite we've received from a local community: Jon,
The City of Pacific and Junior Achievement of Washington are partnering on a Spring Break Educational Camp, April 9 - 13, 2007. As part of this camp we would like to invite your program, using the NAE and the math and physics of a record attempt, to help excite kids in Math and Science.
In this camp, we are expecting 50, 4th - 6th grade age children and other programs will include working with Junior Achievement Programs, How math / science is applied in different jobs (IE: Engineering, Construction, Banking, etc.). I hope this camp will help spark some of the same interest that the Space Program did for my generation.
Please let me know if you might be available one of these days, and what additional information or assistance you might need. Thanks for your efforts, not only with the NAE, but in exciting children's interest in math and science. It is great work you are doing.
