NAE™ Project: 800 Club - Massachusets Mark Besso, a long-time fan of the NAE™ project and member in the club, is shown below in his NAE™ Gear on his motorcycle next to the "beast" itself. The bike I’m riding….err, sitting on, is a 1997 Honda CBR1100XX “Blackbird.” I fell in lust with it the first time I saw one in a magazine. (Having it named for one of my favorite planes didn’t hurt) They only brought them to the US from ’97 to ’03. The first two years are carburated and that‘s the model I wanted. When it was released it was the fastest motorcycle sold for street use. Since then the Suzuki GSX-R1300 “Hyabusa” and a bunch of other machines have raised the bar considerably. I wonder if it’s a coincidence that both those bikes are named after famous airplanes. We know Mark will show up when we end up going for the record. He keeps in touch regularly with the webmaster. We invite you to add a comment, or remark, about our program or the site. Interested in helping us make history and bring the record back to North America? Here's how!
